Japan: Shrinking population

The population in Japan is falling rapidly because the mothers are expected to have no more that one child. Deaths are expected to exceed births by 10,000, and inward migration will not make up the difference.

Big Picture

  1. This is not like India's rapidly growing population because Japan's population is rapidly shrinking. People are coming to India because they have lots of jobs. Japan's population is decreasing because most people living there are over the age of sixty-five. They are not creating new jobs.

  2. This is not like Chinas Population Growth because while China is growing Japan is getting smaller.

  3. This issue is not like Africa's rapidly increasing population rates and density because with this issue, it is the reverse. Population is becoming too small and too old to support the country.
